STUDENT/ALUMNI PARTICIPATION

AACC congratulates the students attending the 2025 ATE Conference. Participating students are expected to attend the following events:
 

1) Student Orientation to the ATE Conference Zoom Meeting: AACC held a Zoom meeting designed for student attendees on Wednesday, September 17. The meeting provided an orientation to the ATE Conference and how to prepare for the student poster session.

2) Student Meet, Greet, & Poster Set-Up: AACC is coordinating an informal meet and greet opportunity for students on Wednesday, October 29 from 3:00 – 3:45 p.m. in the Regency Ballroom. Join us for some light refreshments, introductions, and the opportunity to meet your fellow students from 3:00 to 3:30 p.m., and then from 3:30 to 3:45 p.m., students are asked to set up their posters for the Student Poster Session & Reception.

3) Student Poster Session & Reception - Required: Students and alumni are required to participate in a poster session on Wednesday, October 29 from 4:00 – 5:30 p.m. in the Regency Ballroom. The poster session will give you an opportunity to highlight your program of study and career path. For the session, students are required to create a poster that is 32” high by 40” wide vertically or 40” wide by 32” high horizontally. Poster templates are provided. Students are expected to stand by their posters for the 90-minute display period to engage with conference attendees.

· Poster Session Templates: It is strongly recommended that you use one of the Student Poster Session templates to ensure your poster is the correct size.

o Posters must be formatted and printed in a vertical layout that is 32” high x 40” wide or a horizontal layout that is 40” wide x 32” high.

· Poster Session Sign-Up: Students are required to sign up for the poster session when completing the 2025 ATE Student Information form, which will be emailed to them with their student acceptance information.

4) Student Poster Session Schedule – Wednesday, October 29

  • Poster Set-Up: 3:30 – 3:45 pm – Regency Ballroom
  • Poster Session: 4:00 – 5:30 pm – Regency Ballroom
    *Students are asked to stand by their posters during this period.
  • Poster Tear Down: 5:30 p.m. – 5:45 p.m.

Note: Students from the same institution/project may elect to develop a joint poster presentation and display together. However, due to spacing and visibility concerns, AACC will allow no more than two students to jointly present a single poster. Students are encouraged to develop their own individual posters for display.

5) Student/Industry Networking Session: AACC will host a special, student-only session on Thursday, October 30 from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. in the Ambassador room. The session is focused on providing students the opportunity to talk directly with business and industry leaders to learn about career fields and the skills needed to be successful in the workforce. 6) Student/Alumni Recognition Breakfast on Friday, October 31 - Required: ATE students, alumni, and their PIs are expected to attend a special recognition breakfast on Friday, October 31 from 7:30 - 8:30 a.m. in the Empire room. ATE students and alumni will be formally recognized by the National Science Foundation for their achievements in ATE programs.

7) CHANGE in Student Educational Tour: Due to the federal government shutdown, all Smithsonian Museums are currently closed. The ATE Student Tour on October 30 will now visit the National Building Museum one of D.C.'s most unique and inspiring landmarks. Please note the earlier start time for this tour.  

Students should meet in at 1:45 p.m. in the Omni lobby by the concierge desk to board the bus. The bus will depart at 2:00 p.m. and return to the the Omni by 5:15 p.m. This change offers a great opportunity to explore another fascinating part of Washington, D.C.--and we look forward to seeing you there.
